People Living With Disabilities

This project takes care of people living with disabilities by giving them skills and empowering them to live independently.

People living with disabilities, who are estimated to be 4.5million in Uganda, are often forgotten in community development projects that’s why we chose to include them among the groups we support in economic empowerment in order to enable them lead a self-reliant and independent life.

The One Stop Business Center that was built by our partners, Okoa Refuge is a location for people with disabilities in Masaka District to come and learn a trade, sell their goods and build relationships with other disabled people. The constructed indoor Market and learning place has become a hub for the physically handicapped to earn an income and gain a sense of dignity – understanding that they can give back to their communities and support their families!
